Attorneys to the Construction Industry
The Tunstead & Schechter law firm specializes in construction and commercial law in the public and private areas. For over forty years, we have provided the highest quality of professional service to members of the construction industry.
The firm represents general contractors, specialty contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, architects, engineers, construction managers, owners, developers, building product manufacturers and sureties in all phases of litigation, arbitration and mediation with respect to both public and private construction projects.
The firm has experienced construction litigators who are also engineers on staff, bringing a wide range of expertise to deal with the complexities of construction law. We routinely advise clients with respect to their contracts; are expert in analyzing, managing, litigating and arbitrating complex construction claims; and advise clients on financial affairs and general business matters.
Our roots can be traced back to 1919, when Edgar Spencer entered into the practice of construction law after returning from World War I. Richard H. Tunstead and Mr. Spencer formed the firm of Spencer & Tunstead in 1958. In 1973, Mr. Tunstead and Marvin Schechter, the firm’s current managing partner, formed Tunstead & Schechter.
